GSA SPECIAL SESSIONS

Presidential Symposia were developed by the president and program chairs. These sessions were created around the
theme of the meeting. The concepts and themes emerging from the individual presidential symposia will be combed together and discussed among the designated rapporteurs and the audience at the GSA Presidential Symposium.

Gerontological Society of America (GSA) fosters new ideas, recognizes leadership in gerontological teaching and service, and salutes both outstanding and potential research through a host of awards. The Society's awards program has a dual purpose; honoring outstanding leaders in the field of gerontology and focusing attention on new developments in the area of aging. In a way, the Society's award winners serve as milestones in the history and development of gerontology.

GSA’s 2023 Annual Scientific Meeting offers a unique opportunity to learn how GSA members are applying research findings and analyses to generate solutions to the most pressing aging-related policy issues facing policy makers today. Known as the popular “Policy Series,” these sessions and symposia feature researchers from a range of disciplines as well as congressional staff and policy analysts.

Momentum Discussions are panel discussions, with active audience engagement, that address topics of great momentum in the field of gerontology. They highlight advances in research and practice and how gerontologists can support the needs of the aging population.

Industry-Supported Symposia are live educational programs developed and supported by
another organization and appended to the GSA Annual Scientific meeting.
