Dr. Reema Banarjee is a Visiting Post-doctoral Fellow at the Translational Geroproteomics Unit (TGU) in National Institute of Aging, NIH. She has received her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research, India while working at CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India. She has worked extensively in the area of cellular and disease biology by applying mass spectrometry-based proteomics to identify non-enzymatic post-translational protein modifications and their cellular signalling mechanisms. At TGU, she is using advanced quantitative proteomic techniques to identify novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets for cellular senescence and aging. She has comprehensively profiled the cell surface proteome across different cells and identified potential candidates that can serve as biomarkers to identify senescent cells in vivo.
