Noriko Tsukada, Ph.D., is a full professor at the Nihon University College of Commerce in Tokyo, Japan. She received a B.A. and M.A. in Education from Fukuoka University of Education in Japan. She also earned MGS (Master of Gerontological Studies) from Miami University in Ohio in 1993 under a supervision of Dr. Robert Atchley and a Ph.D. from UCLA in California in the US in 1997 under a supervision of Dr. James E. Lubben. Upon her graduation from Miami University, she joined “Sigma Phi Omega” (National Gerontology Honorary). From 2004 to 2008, she assumed the position of the Director of the Japan Office for the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA), a United Nations Advisory body. She became GSA Fellow on May 10, 2016 (Social Research, Policy, and Practice Section). She has been the board members of several organizations, including the Japan Academy for the Prevention of Elder Abuse, Health and Welfare Information Association, Tokyo Pensioners Association, Pension Financing and Welfare Services Association, and The Japan Association of Training Institutions for Certified Care Workers. Moreover, since 2017, she is taking a part of Examination Committee of Social Insurance as a Counselor. Dr. Tsukada researches policies for foreign care workers and elder abuse and publishes her work both domestically and internationally. Her major publications include 6 edited and translated books, 8 book chapters, 37 journal articles (including 2 proceedings), 13 professional reports, 8 case developments, 8 book reviews, 12 invited professional presentations and 63 peer-reviewed professional conference presentations. She also has appeared in national media.
