PROFILE: Prof. dr. Maud Graff (PhD) is a Professor in Occupational Therapy at the Radboud Univesity Medical Center Nijmegen in the Netherlands and has an honorary appointment at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. Her field of expertise is on frail (older) people with cognitive, physical, mental, social and/or sensory problems and their caregivers. She received her PhD with honor and received 7 science awards for her (inter-) national research line on developing, evaluating and implementing occupational therapy and other interdisciplinary psychosocial interventions in older people with dementia and their caregivers, using mixed methods. The interventions are focused on promoting the self-direction in meaningful daily activities, the social participation, quality of life and health of frail (older) people with cognitive, physical, mental and/or sensory problems. She is giving master courses, keynote lectures and presentations worldwide on these interventions and these research methodologies. She supervised as (co)promotor 11 PhD students who successfully finished and defended their theses and currently is supervising 14 ongoing PhD students, and participates in different interdisciplinary research consortia. She published over 100 peer-reviewed (inter)national publications, books and societal relevant papers. She is active member of the European network on research into psychosocial interventions in dementia (INTERDEM) and chair of INTERDEM Methodology Taskforce in Psychosocial Interventions in Dementia. She is board member of the Radboudumc Alzheimercenter, of the Dutch Scientific Advise group on Occupational Therapy, of the Dutch & European Community Occupational Therapy in Dementia Progamme network, editor of the Dutch Scientific Journal of Occupational Therapy, member of Dutch & EU Advice Group on Occupational Therapy and Elderly.
