Cecilia Poon, PhD, ABPP is a licensed board-certified geropsychologist and internship training director at Nebraska Medicine, and an adjunct assistant professor in the Geriatric Psychiatry Division at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology (Aging Track) at the University of Southern California, internship at the Piedmont Geriatric Hospital in Virginia, and fellowship at Nebraska Medicine. She has served on committees of the Society of Clinical Geropsychology within the American Psychological Association (Division 12, Section 2), APA Division 20 Adult Development and Aging, Psychologists in Long-term Care, the American Board of Geropsychology, and the Nebraska Mental Health and Aging Coalition. She currently serves on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC). Clinical interests include aging with and into disability, caregiving, coping with chronic health conditions, death and dying, grief, and mindfulness- and acceptance-based interventions. Other professional interests include geriatric behavioral health workforce, public policy advocacy, multicultural and diversity considerations in practice, mentoring, supervision, and training.
