David Weiss is a Senior lecturer at the University of Halle, Germany. After earning his PhD from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany, he was as a Postdoc at University of Zurich in Switzerland and later an Assistant Professor at Columbia University in New York City. In 2018 he became a Heisenberg fellow of the German Research Foundation at Leipzig University. His research program focuses on social-cognitive and motivational mechanisms across the life span with a focus on (a) subjective aging, (b) stereotypes, mindsets, and health, as well as (c) social status and social inequality. His studies include experimental, longitudinal, and cross-cultural methods and have been funded by competitive external grants.
