Research Assistant Professor, Director of Long-term Care Internships Administration and Aging Sciences Internship Program and Interim Director of the Florida Policy Exchange Center on Aging
University of South Florida
Tampa, Florida, United States
I am a research assistant professor in the School of Aging Studies at the University of South Florida with an interest in policy related to long-term care supports and services and disaster preparedness in long-term care facilities and among caregivers. I also have a special interest in communication concerning health care decision making. I have been a USF faculty member since obtaining a PhD from USF in 2016, in Aging Studies. Before that, I spent more than 20 years as a working journalist, reporting and editing at newspapers in Kansas and Florida. This inevitably involved covering a number of Florida hurricanes, though most of my work was as a beat reporter on a range of topics from education to politics to aging and long-term care.
