Noah Webster, Ph.D. is an Associate Research Scientist in the Life Course Development Program at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research. He has a Ph.D. in Sociology from Case Western Reserve University with specializations in Medical Sociology and Research Methods. Dr. Webster’s research focuses on examining the role of the lived environment (e.g., community, built, natural) in shaping social relations and their impact on multiple health outcomes. Dr. Webster currently is Principal Investigator of an NIH funded K01 to develop a social network-based physical activity intervention for lower income older adults and is Co-Investigator of the NIH funded Detroit-based Social Relations Study. He has served in leadership roles in both national and international societies. This includes serving on the Editorial Board for GSA’s Innovation in Aging (2016-present), and having served as Chair of the GSA’s Publications Committee (2016-2017).
