Sofhia V. Ramos, PhD (she/her/hers)

Dr. Sofhia Ramos is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at AdventHealth where she is currently involved in clinical studies investigating age-associated changes in muscle physiology and function with a specific expertise mitochondrial bioenergetics. During her PhD training she gained experience working with pre-clinical models testing the hypothesis of cytoskeleton protein regulation of mitochondrial oxidative capacity. Her passion for understanding structure-function relationships continues to grow with aspirations to investigate the impact mitochondria morphology has mitochondrial energetic function and muscle physical function. Sofhia's overarching goal is to contribute to our growing understanding of muscle health and contribute to new therapuetic strategies that may promote healthy aging.
