Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
Jourdyn Lawrence, PhD, MSPH, is an assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University. As a social epidemiologist, her work investigates how racism, as a system, drives racial inequities and population health and how epidemiological methods can be used to advocate for structural change. She is interested in understanding how structural policies and practices interact with interpersonal experiences of racial discrimination to become embodied and how this results in adverse chronic and cognitive-related health outcomes among Black adults. She aims to use these findings to contribute to developing community-led and desired solutions.
Dr. Lawrence received her PhD in Population Health Sciences from Harvard University and her Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) in Epidemiology from the University of South Carolina.
