Josie Dixon is an Assistant Professorial Research Fellow at the Care Policy and Evaluation Centre (CPEC), Department of Health Policy, London School of Economics and Political Science. Josie designs, conducts and directs policy-focused research into ageing and care, particularly end of life care, dementia care and social care for older people. Areas of special interest include rights-based approaches to care, relational autonomy, personalisation, inequalities and organisational and resource factors in care provision. Josie is primarily a qualitative specialist, but works across a wide range of methods. Josie teaches research ethics and the conduct of sensitive research to doctoral students, sits on several national grant funding panels and is a member of a national ethics advisory group for the UK Covid Inquiry. Josie's professional background is broad-based, spanning academia, consultancy, service improvement, inspection and commissioned policy research.
