Aanand D. Naik, MD is Professor and Nancy P. & Vincent F. Guinee, M.D. Distinguished Chair and Executive Director of the UTHealth Institute on Aging in Houston, Texas. He is also Chair of the Department of Management, Policy, and Community Health and Associate Dean for Learning Health Systems at the School of Public Health at UTHealth Houston. Dr. Naik is a senior investigator at the Houston Veterans Administration Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness, and Safety (IQuESt). Integrating these roles, his research program uses population health systems interventions to improve the healthcare decisions and outcomes of older adults with multimorbid conditions. His research program includes randomized clinical trials, implementation science studies, and primary data collection with continuous research funding since 2006. These studies have produced >250 peer-reviewed manuscripts, commentaries, and book chapters. He maintains a clinical practice in the Center for Health Aging at the Joan and Stanford Alexander Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine, McGovern Medical School.
