Dr. Fox is an Assistant Professor in the Behavioral Science department at Utah Valley University, and coordinator of their Interdisciplinary Gerontology Certificate of Proficiency. Dr. Fox's current teaching and research focuses on gerontological training in higher education and the health and well-being of family caregivers and family dynamics in aging families. Specifically, Dr. Fox utilizes applied science and qualitative methods to study the experiences of family caregivers and test intervention and prevention programs aimed at promoting the health and well-being of care partners and communication within aging families. She also studies the importance of service-learning in gerontology courses. Dr. Fox is actively engaged in community programs for older adults and their families, including volunteering for local Hospice services as a certified Death Doula, and facilitating family caregiver support groups for the Alzheimer’s Association.
