Dr. Bybee is an Assistant Professor (Research) at the University of Utah College of Nursing. Her doctoral research focused on understanding how couples (including sexual and gender minority couples) can experience posttraumatic growth through the experience of cancer. As a postdoctoral research scholar at the University of Utah, Dr. Bybee contributed to research related to social needs screening and referral for socioeconomically disadvantaged populations. She was awarded a Spheres of Translation Across the Research Spectrum (STARS) TL1 postdoctoral fellowship through the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, in which she examined the social needs of individuals without internet or telephone access. As a licensed clinical social worker, Dr. Bybee aims to conduct research that will ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of historically marginalized populations, such as sexual and gender minority older adults and Hispanic/Latino populations. In her free time, she enjoys running, biking, hiking, cooking, baking, reading novels, speaking Spanish, and playing with dogs
