Dr. Intrator is a professor of public health sciences at the University of Rochester, a clinical professor at the Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine, a Research Health Scientist at the Finger Lakes VA Healthcare System and the Director of the Geriatrics & Extended Care Data Analysis Center serving the VA Central Office of Geriatrics & Extended Care. With a Ph.D. in applied mathematics and undergraduate degree in mathematics and computer sciences she has developed an extensive expertise in the acquisition and manipulation of population-based data, especially from the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and from the Veterans Health Administration. In particular, she has led the development of the Residential History File and methods to share it broadly within the VA. Her work combines this expertise with her experience and training in statistics as she develops and applies novel methods to analyze the data. Her work has been funded by the NIH, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Israeli National Science Foundation and Health Services Research Foundation.
