Dr. Glenna Brewster is an Assistant Professor at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University. She received Associates of Arts and Science in Nursing from Broward College, her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing, a Master of Arts in Gerontology, and a Ph.D. in Nursing Science from the University of South Florida. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the Center for Sleep and Circadian Neurobiology at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine. Her program of research focuses on understanding sleep disturbance experienced by persons living with cognitive impairment and their care partners, developing behavioral interventions to address their sleep disturbance, and examining how these sleep interventions impact the dyad’s psychological, cognitive, and physiological health. Dr. Brewster is currently funded by the National Institute on Aging. She has received funding from the Alzheimer’s Association, National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence, and the National Institute of Nursing Research. Dr. Brewster is the current president of the Board of Directors for the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence.
