I am a PhD trained is a social gerontologist with special passion for studying the long-term care workforce in nursing homes and assisted living settings. I will soon embark on a VA CDA-1 to study nursing assistant training within VA nursing homes and patterns with staff and Veteran outcomes. My published work centers on modifiable practices and organizational factors associated with retention of direct care workers. My VA portfolio of work expanded into mixed methods studies to examine interventions within VA nursing homes and VA provision of home health care and What Matters Most geriatrics clinic appointments. Training is a key aspect I hope to explore more.
