Ad Maulod is a cultural anthropologist and Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Ageing Research and Education (CARE), Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore. His theoretical interest lies at the intersections of culture, medicine and the body. Since 2016, he has conducted interviews with over 700 older persons, and with those stories, translated cultural concepts of health and ageing into effective programme and policy interventions. He has led several evaluation studies focusing on user experience of health services and factors that impact the quality of care integration. His current research explores isolation and loneliness among older persons and understanding what it means to feel alive, well and belonged. Ad believes in the wisdom and empowerment of our elders by amplifying their stories and advocating for an inclusive, compassionate and just society for all-ages.
