Dr. Ravi Varadhan is a Professor of Oncology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine (JHSOM), with a joint appointment in the Department of Biostatistics at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He has made contributions in the fields of aging, frailty, and resilience; computational statistics, and patient-centered outcomes research. His research interests and accomplishments span three major areas: (1) the study of frailty and resilience using a dynamical systems approach; (2) acceleration techniques for speeding up the expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm in high-dimensional computational statistics; and (3) the analysis of heterogeneous treatment effects (HTE).
