Dr. El Khoudary is a Professor and a Vice Chair for Education at the Epidemiology Department School of Public Health of the University of Pittsburgh. She is a cardiovascular epidemiologist with a long standing expertise in coordinating multi-center observational studies and applying complex statistical methodologies. Her main scientific research area is cardiovascular epidemiology of the menopause transition with focus on mechanisms linking menopause, sex hormone levels, lipids, fat deposition and subclinical measures of atherosclerosis in midlife women. Dr. El Khoudary has received funding from NIA, NHLBI and AHA to support her research work. She has published numerous manuscripts, review papers, scientific and position statements and delivered presentations in various national and international scientific meetings. Dr. El Khoudary has received several honors and awards including the Fulbright scholarship, Trudy Bush Fellowship for Cardiovascular Research in Women’s Health, New Investigator Award from the North American Menopause Society 2012, best paper of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism 2015, and the Early Investigator Award from the Endocrine Society 2016.
